• Let's move on to the minion's eye. We knit 3 air loops with black threads and connect them into a circle.

• As at the beginning of knitting the bottom, we knit 14 double crochets.

• The next row is single crochet with white thread. We add every 3rd loop.

• The last row is also single crochet with gray thread. No need to add.

• Using gray thread and a needle, sew the eyes with a large eye to the hat at the level of the black stripe (as in the photo).

If the circle is ready 52 cm, the bottom should be 16.50 cm. For another circle, we calculate using the formula C = 2πR = πD, where C is the circumference, R is the radius, D is the diameter, π is the constant Pi (3.14).

We knit according to the pattern below.

By knitting according to the pattern, you will get an almost finished hat. Next, we divide it so that the seam of the transition from column to column is at the back of the head. We leave 24 loops in front and at the back of the head intact, 18 loops for the “ears”. We switch from circular knitting to knit and purl.

In order for the bevels to be neat, there is no need to shorten the loops. It is enough not to knit an air loop, but to immediately begin knitting the next column. Such a smooth transition will create neatness of work. We close the last loops as in the photo.

We knit according to the pattern.

Having tied the back of the head, we completely move on to tying the “ears”. We knit row by row, constantly smoothing the ends on both sides. When tying, we break the thread and thread it.

In our case, we tie the hat with grass around the perimeter, starting with one of the corners of the visor. Having finished knitting in a circle, we begin to knit the visor. We knit 6-10 rows in single crochets as desired and sew them to the hat.

• If you knit everything according to the pattern, you get 54 columns in a circle. Otherwise, calculate proportionally to our scheme. We continue to leave 19 columns untouched, for the rest we continue to knit in single crochet columns. Even if everything seems the same now, we recommend leaving the transition from one row to another strictly at the back of the head. (The thread we broke).

• We knit “ears for the crown”. We cast on 3 air loops, connect and knit 14 double crochets in a circle. We do not close the next row, which also closes the single crochet columns or the cross stitch, to the place of sewing. To prevent the ears from dangling, 1/3 should be sewn to the hat.

• Sew on the buttons and tighten the threads. The hat is ready!

Similarly, we knit the inner hat from acrylic or other soft yarn. During the knitting process, I recommend placing the inner cap into the outer one to check the size matches. It may happen that, due to differences in the thickness of the yarn, the inner cap may be wider than the outer one, or, conversely, much narrower. In this case, you will have to reduce/increase the number of loops at the stage of forming the bottom of the hat. Having reached the stage of knitting the ears of the inner hat, we move on to knitting with Lotus Grass Stretch yarn. This is necessary so that the inside of the ears is fluffy - this, in my opinion, turns out warmer and prettier. 3. When both hats are knitted, we put one inside the other and join them together, tying them along the entire bottom edge (including the ears) with single crochets using Lotus Grass Stretch yarn. We sew the tops (the beginning of knitting) of the hats together with several hidden stitches. 4. We knit the visor with single crochets in front and back rows. Knit to the desired length. Then we sew the visor to the hat using hidden stitches. 5. We knit ties: on the central loops of the lower edge of each ear we knit 4 single crochets. Next we knit with front and back rows of 4 sc in each row to the required length. Please note that the ties stretch as you wear them, so I recommend knitting them tighter. Tip: to “fluff” elements knitted from Lotus Grass Stretch yarn, you can use Velcro tape, or rather the part of it that consists of small hooks.
