Over the knee boots amaze the imagination with their shapes, heights, colors, materials, heels and finishes. Of course, in the fall-winter 2016–2017 season, over the knee boots will become the most fashionable, stylish and sought-after boots, around which the rest of the outfit will be built.
Along with over the knee boots and stocking boots, other types of such shoes do not go out of fashion. For autumn, knee-length boots are still relevant, among which there are very feminine models with laces. Most models fit perfectly on the leg, retaining warmth. In addition, the boots can be decorated with ruffles. This trend seems to return to the summer, when all kinds of sundresses and dresses were popular.
Boots most often fit tightly around the leg and have a zipper on the inside of the leg, less often at the back or front. Sometimes the fastener looks like real lacing with eyelets or hooks, or it can be decorative - the same zipper is hidden under it.
Materials and finishing
Fashionable boots can be made from a wide variety of materials. These include classic matte, glossy and patent leather, suede and nubuck, felt and textiles, artificial materials, including vinyl and neoprene, rubber in different types. The greatest variety of materials is found in over the knee boots. They can be classic, made from soft, velvety suede or fine leather, extravagant in vinyl or lacquer, or futuristic, made from material such as neoprene, which is used to create diving suits.
Note! Very often a combination of several different materials is used, for example, suede and rubber - similar to galoshes, a hybrid of textiles and patent natural or artificial leather makes the boots look like men's shoes with gaiters.
Separately, it is worth mentioning the boots made of reptile skin. It can be artificial leather like a snake or crocodile. Moreover, the colors are very diverse.
Boots made of colored velvet will be popular. Of course, in our autumn-winter conditions they can hardly be called practical. Nevertheless, they may well become a spectacular addition to a woman’s image.
The massive, textured treads bring to mind work boots. Such shoes are not only fashionable, but also very profitable and practical in conditions of ice and snowfall - the soles of such boots do not slip even on open areas of ice.
Original heels
Photos from the shows show a surge of imagination among shoe designers, which touched the heels of fashionable boots. Here you can find the thinnest stilettos of different heights - from a few centimeters to a mind-blowing 15-20 cm, and stable straight heels. Extravagant forms of heels are in fashion, which harmonize well with the appearance of stocking boots and over the knee boots. For example, a cone-shaped heel, high platforms or a heel that widens towards the bottom. However, those who do not like experiments may well choose a traditional wedge, straight heel, or small square heel.
Boots this fall and winter can have either a thin sole or a platform, sometimes of mind-boggling thickness, and in some cases also of a tractor type.
Note! Most often, the platform is played out as the main decorative element of shoes. It can be in contrasting colors.
Fashionable colors
Boots can come in a variety of colors and textures. Their selection is more varied than ever. Classic black, grey, white and shades of brown never go out of style, but this season they are colored with bright and rich colors. Scarlet vinyl over the knee boots or purple suede stocking boots are par for the course for fall and winter this year.
As before, animal motifs are very fashionable this season. This is not necessarily a classic leopard or zebra. The colors of these luxurious prints can be black and white, but not only. Boots made of reptile leather – natural or imitation – also never go out of style. Models that combine several different textures or materials are also in great demand. A wide selection of autumn and winter boots will help women find the perfect pair.
