Women always strive to look stylish. Accessories decorated with flowers can be a bright addition to the look. We recommend that you create an unfading flower using the kanzashi technique with your own hands. For beginners, this type of creativity may seem incomprehensible and complicated, but believe me, everything is much simpler than you think. In the list of women's hobbies, Kazansha occupies one of the leading places; moreover, men are increasingly choosing this hobby for themselves!

A little history of beautiful needlework

Historically, the birthplace of this art form, like origami, is Japan, and it appeared around 1700. Japanese women were not allowed to wear necklaces or bracelets, so they decorated their hairstyles on a special scale.

Kanzashi (or kanzashi) were combs, sticks or hairpins decorated with flowers made of silk. Looking at kanzashi, one could judge the character and even the social status of a woman, because luxurious jewelry often cost even more than a kimono.

Kanzashi varied in color and shape depending on the time of year. The products were created by famous craftsmen. The manufacturing technology of those times was different from the modern one - craftsmen used rice glue, each silk square piece was folded and a petal was formed, they, in turn, were collected on a thread and glued to the base. In this way, whole bouquets were collected and decorated with combs or hairpins.

Kanzashi and modernity

Nowadays this Japanese technology has not lost its meaning and has become popular in European countries. Needlewomen create flowers in the kanzashi style and decorate hair accessories and brooches with them. These accessories are especially popular among brides, because kanzashi flowers can be used to tastefully decorate wedding paraphernalia.

Young mothers will also be interested in this type of creativity - their little princesses will be happy to wear all kinds of bright elastic bands, headbands, and hair clips.

Master the kazansha technique from satin ribbons It’s not that difficult, but you’ll have to be patient and persistent, as this is quite painstaking work that requires attention, accuracy and perseverance. If you have already tried, or, the work will not seem difficult to you.

Starter kit for a beginner kanzashi master

So, the materials needed to get started:

  • satin ribbons (for beginners, preferably 5 cm wide);
  • beads or buttons (for the centers of flowers), a lighter or a candle (but be careful - the candle can smoke the ribbon);
  • sharp scissors, needle and sewing thread;
  • glue (we recommend choosing a colorless one, “Moment Crystal” is ideal);
  • tweezers.

You can use a wide variety of accessories and materials: organza, tulle, rhinestones, sequins, etc.

Where to start: basic operating principles

For convenience, immediately cut the ribbons into identical squares and singe them so that the satin does not fray during the process (more experienced needlewomen use a soldering iron, it cuts the ribbon evenly and simultaneously singes the edges). In the original, in the kanzashi technique, there are only two types of petals - sharp and round. But modern craftswomen have come up with many modifications of petal shapes, which allows them to diversify their work and make them even more interesting.

Step-by-step technique creating kanzashi is as follows:

  1. Cut the satin ribbons into squares.
  2. Fold each square into a petal, singeing the ends and joints with a lighter.
  3. Gather the petals onto a strong thread.
  4. Glue the resulting blank to the base - it can be a felt circle or a cardboard circle covered with satin to match the flower.
  5. Glue or sew on the center of the flower (for example, a button).
  6. Add decor if necessary (for example, rhinestones or lace);
    attach the finished kanzashi flower to the base (hairpin, brooch, headband, etc.).
  7. Wait for the glue to dry completely and, if necessary, straighten the petals.

From theory to practice: master classes

If you have carefully read this publication and now want to consolidate your knowledge in practice, proceed to master classes on making crafts with your own hands. Even more MK on Kanzashi is waiting for you.

One of the most famous types of Japanese art is "kanzashi". It consists of creating beautiful decorations in the form of flowers from pieces of silk ribbons. Here are master classes on how to make kanzashi from ribbon with step by step photos. Roses, butterflies, hearts, bows and satin flowers using the kanzashi technique look elegant and delicate, and making them with your own hands is not at all difficult.

Satin flowers were especially popular among geishas; they used them to decorate all possible hair accessories: combs, hairpins, sticks. Kanzashi decorations made it possible to determine the character, and in some cases, the social status of the women who wore them, since the cost of the ribbons from which they were created could exceed the cost of the kimono itself.

Currently, this technique is popular all over the world and not only as a type of hair decoration. Kanzashi are used to create unique jewelry, and some decorate clothes with them. This technique is most often used by brides, since wedding paraphernalia looks very beautiful when decorated with snow-white kanzashi flowers. Young mothers also like this technique and create bright headbands and hair ties for their little princesses.

It is very easy to learn this technique, you just need to be patient, diligent and persistent, because such work is quite painstaking.

The materials for the classical kanzashi technique are natural silk and rice glue. But nowadays all possible fabrics and any glue are used, especially if you are just learning, then it is not at all necessary to take expensive materials.

DIY kanzashi strawberries

Kanzashi strawberries look bright, appetizing, elegant, but they are inedible. This is a great option for colorful summer hairpins for girls. Everyone is accustomed to the fact that the kanzashi technique is an unusual method of making believable and fantastic flowers and plant patterns. This tutorial shows how to make strawberries from satin ribbons. Girls who see them will definitely want to try them on, not for taste, but for their hair, because they are so beautiful.

For one flight clip we will need:

  • Green satin ribbon of three different sizes(the shade may be the same or different): 3 cuts – 5*5 cm, 2 cuts – 1.2*15 cm, 3 cuts – 0.5*8 cm;
  • White satin ribbon: 5 cuts – 5*5 cm;
  • Red satin ribbon: 2 cuts – 5*8 cm;
  • Green laces: 2 cuts – 8 cm;
  • Green felt in the form of a circle - 3 cm or 4 cm;
  • Yellow half bead with a diameter of 0.6 cm;
  • Cotton wool or padding polyester.

One strawberry composition will consist of two scarlet berries on laces, a white flower glued to a green meadow. To make a flower you need to prepare 5 droplet petals, for a clearing - 6 green leaves of two varieties. The accessories for the job are given above, now we will consider in detail the stages of making a wonderful decoration.

How to make kanzashi strawberry step by step

Let's figure out what the accessories listed in the list are for. A green felt circle is the basis of a green meadow, red satin stripes are details for the berries, white satin stripes and a yellow half-bead are for the flower, green satin details are for the leaves and tails of the strawberries. See how to do it here.

Cut out semicircles from two red stripes (for convenience and a symmetrical result, you can use some kind of round object).

Fold the semicircle in half.

Sew the two combined ends of the former semicircle (preferably with red thread).

Fill the resulting red cone with padding polyester or cotton wool. Sew the upper part with the same red thread around the circumference.

Tighten the thread - you will get a small voluminous berry.

Also sew a green strip measuring 1.2*15 cm with stitches along one side. This time it is better to use a green thread so that it is not noticeable against the general background.

Tighten the green thread, you will get a rounded, wrinkled tail for the berry. Wrap it around the green lace and glue it on. Two parts of the strawberry (red and green on the string) are ready.

For one hairpin, prepare 2 delicious details. These strawberries will also serve as tassels; girls really love such elements in hairpins.

Cut out leaves from green satin squares measuring 5*5 cm. In total you will need three such leaves for one hairpin.

Give the leaves a more realistic shape and relief. To do this, use a knife. Heat the metal over the flame of a gas burner and press it against the leaf so as to press through the veins on the leaves. Burn the outer edge several times with the flame of a lighter, stretching the hot satin with your fingers in between.

Make 3 indicated leaves, and also prepare 3 more green loops from ribbon measuring 0.5 * 8 cm.

Proceed to forming the last part - white flower. White satin squares with a side of 5 cm will be used to make the petals. Bend them diagonally.

Squeeze the lower part with your fingers or a clamp, cut it off and singe it with a lighter.

Prepare 5 white teardrop petals and 1 yellow half bead.

Glue all 5 petals into a flower. Cut out a felt circle. Now all the parts for modeling the hairpin are ready.

Glue the green leaves onto the felt. Glue a white flower on top.

Glue the ends of the green laces from below and press down with felt on top.

The elegant summer kanzashi product is ready.

And all you have to do is glue an elastic band on the back. This type of hairpin is best suited in this case. Make two strawberry bushes - a couple of summer decorations.

Kanzashi for beginners

Kanzashi roses made from satin ribbons are always beautiful, and if they are made in an unusual color scheme, the decoration will also be stylish. The master class shows an aristocratic version of a hairpin with white and turquoise roses. To make the same flowers yourself, study and repeat the steps described here.

A variant of a hairpin with a clip is proposed. Herself flower composition consists of two white, three turquoise buds, one satin bow crowning the bouquet, additional decorative elements in the form of stamens and green leaves. It is possible to use an automatic hairpin, hair band or hoop as the basis for decoration.

For a stylish kanzashi hair clip on a clip, you will need the following variety of accessories:

  • white satin ribbon – 14 stripes 2.5*6 cm (for the petals of two roses);
  • turquoise satin ribbon – 21 stripes 2.5*6 cm (for the petals of three roses);
  • green satin ribbon – 7 stripes 2.5*10 cm (for bud cups and additional decor);
  • white satin ribbon – 2 stripes 2.5*5 cm, 2 stripes 1.2*3.5 cm, 1 strip 1.2*5 cm (for a bow);
  • stamens are white and/or turquoise;
  • green felt oval base – 1 fragment 7.5*3 cm;
  • metal clip – 1 piece 7.5 cm.

As you can see, the set of accessories for work is quite modest. You will certainly find such products in any craft department. But for the work you will still need additional materials: comfortable and sharp scissors, a lighter, a ruler, a glue gun, a soldering iron. Having purchased all this once, you will be able to further create masterpieces using the kanzashi technique at any time, as soon as the muse visits you.

Kanzashi roses in stages

Prepare all the required fittings and tools. Immediately singe the sections on the satin so that the threads from the delicate fabric do not get knocked out during the modeling process.

White and turquoise buds are modeled in the same way, according to a similar scenario. Let's take a closer look at this process using a turquoise example. Turn a strip measuring 2.5 cm by 6 cm horizontally, with the wrong side facing you. Fold the top right and left corners down, aligning the sides of the rectangle with the bottom.

As a result, you will get an unusual part that is rounded at the top. Next, turn the two resulting sharp corners towards you and join them with the primary corners (of the former rectangle). At each stage, the petal is scorched with a flame, this allows the atlas to be held together.

Each bud will consist of 7 petals. Since we planned to simulate two white and three turquoise flowers, then you will need 14 and 21 parts, respectively.

Treat green satin ribbon in a special way. Fold the strips in half, leaving the wrong side inside. Swipe diagonally with the burner. Then select from the resulting fragments those that will become our sepals for the buds.

Roll the petals into tubes. The narrowest will be the first (initial) tube. Next, layer all the other 6 petals on top of it. The result will be half-opened rose buds.

Make 5 beautiful flowers in two shades.

Open 5 cups with your fingers or tweezers and glue a bud into each of them. The resulting green details will be spiky, so the overall buds will look very nice.

Cut out a felt green base for the entire flower lawn and start gluing flowers onto it, also placing bunches of stamens between the heads, leaves (the green parts remaining after cutting).

Fill the felt with five buds.

You can glue a white bow to the base of the bouquet to elevate the look. Prepare the accessories indicated in the list. Close 2 strips into loops, leave the other two for the tail and one more for the central winding.

Glue the bow together.

Prepare a hair clip.

Add a bow to the base of the bouquet.

Glue a clip to the back.

Now you know how to do beautiful roses kanzashi, how to model spiky green leaves, how to assemble the resulting details into a single elegant composition.

By applying the acquired knowledge in practice, you will receive a wonderful decoration for yourself or someone close to you. read here.

DIY Kanzashi butterfly

In the summer frivolous bright butterflies flutter around. One, and they landed on the girl’s hair, flapped their wings, two, and they flew away. And if a girl’s mother is a real needlewoman, then the butterflies will not fly away, but will remain to decorate her hair. The proposed kanzashi guide is instructions for creating an elegant bow with a butterfly.

Here we tried to combine two fashionable moments: a charming summer bow and a colorful butterfly to match it. This is an excellent sunny hairpin that any girl will definitely like; such a hand-made work would be shameful both as a gift and to wear for a holiday.

To repeat the solar bow you will need:

  • 4 rectangular pieces of yellow tape - 5*10 cm;
  • 2 rectangular pieces of white tape - 5*10 cm;
  • 4 rectangular pieces of gold brocade - 0.5*10 cm;
  • 1 rectangle piece of white tape - 1.2*12 cm.

For a weightless kanzashi butterfly, made to match the bow, you will need:

  • 4 square pieces of red ribbon - 5*5 cm;
  • 4 square pieces of white tape - 5*5 cm;
  • 4 square pieces of gold brocade - 5*5 cm;
  • 2 square pieces of red ribbon - 2.5 * 2.5 cm;
  • 4 square pieces of white tape - 2.5 * 2.5 cm;
  • one white double-sided stamen;
  • half bead white 1.2 cm;
  • white felt circle with a diameter of 2 cm.

That's all you need to get the job done. Now calculate how much one beautiful bow will cost you. The amount will be small, so everyone can afford such beauty.

The main thing is to carefully study the instructions and strictly repeat all the steps described in it. It is allowed to vary the shades of the tape, change the look and texture of the fittings.

The proposed bow will consist of four yellow loops and two central ones - white and gold. A regular bow is decorated with a butterfly on top - this is the central highlight of the hair clip. To make a butterfly, you need to prepare complex five-layer kanzashi petals. Now let's move on to describing the stages of work.

To make the top loops for the bow, prepare wide white satin stripes and narrow golden brocade ones. Align the stripes as shown in the photo - apply gold along the white path on the sides.

Using the following photo as a guide, bend the two tracks and close the fastener by singeing it and squeezing it with your fingers. This way you will get two absolutely identical loops.

Prepare the yellow loops in the same way, only they will be monochromatic, their number will be four.

Glue all 6 parts into a lush bow. It itself is already very elegant, sunny due to the use of yellow and rich – due to golden brocade. Wrap a small white ribbon around the middle of the bow.

The bow - the base of the product - is ready. Now let's move on to modeling the butterfly. We'll add an extra red color to add even more brightness. Prepare five types of squares for one wing.

Separately, make a triple sharp petal from three squares with a side of 5 cm - white, red and gold.

Layer the squares bent twice diagonally one on top of the other and curl the sharp corners.

Each sharp petal is a boat, cut from below.

From small squares of white and red flowers, make a double sharp petal using the same method.

Insert small petals into larger ones to create layered wings.

For the lower wings of the Kanzashi butterfly, prepare rounded triple petals from white, red and gold squares.

Layer the triangles on top of each other and lower the sharp corners down.

By closing the corners, round the wings.

To model a kanzashi butterfly you will need two five-layer, two three-layer round, two additional small white petals, as well as a half-bead and a white stamen.

Glue the wings together and place white petals between them to act as an insect body.

Glue a double stamen on top and disguise its tip with a half bead.

Glue the butterfly to the center of the bow.

The accessory using the kanzashi technique is ready.

All that remains is to glue the desired hairpin on the bottom so that you can decorate your hair in the summer and show off among the colorful nature and fluttering butterflies. Such satin products look so elegant!

Kanzashi heart made of satin ribbons

In this tutorial I present step by step wizard class on making a heart from satin ribbons using the kanzashi technique.

Necessary materials:

  1. White satin ribbon (width 5 cm) – 2 meters.
  2. Pink or red satin ribbon (5 cm wide) – 2 meters.
  3. Felt Pink colour– 15*15 cm.
  4. Pink felt – 1 sheet (A4).
  5. Pink or white beads for decoration. The number of beads will be equal to the number of leaves.
  6. The stamens are yellow – about 10 pieces.
  7. Hot melt adhesive.
  8. Glue rods.
  9. Cardboard for the base.
  10. Lighter or candle.
  11. Scissors.
  12. Cabochon or large half bead.

The amount of material used will directly depend on the size of the heart you choose. The heart presented in this master class is 17 cm wide and 14 cm high. The photograph shows a diagram for making the petals.

First you need to cut 5*5 cm squares from white and satin ribbon.

Then take one square and fold it diagonally to the bottom left corner. You should get a triangle with a fold. Next, fold it again, connecting the lower right corner to the upper left. The fold line is formed in the lower right corner. It remains to fold one more time, this time we take the lower left corner and connect it to the upper left corner.

So, we have a small triangle. First, cut off the tip at the top and burn it with a lighter to glue all the corners. Then we trim the side part, literally 0.5 cm, and also glue it with a lighter.

We need to make 30 petals of each color: pink and white.

Now take a heart template of the size you need. Cut it out.

We cut out two hearts from pink felt according to the template.

If you want the product to be more dense, you can cut out the base from cardboard, also using our template. Then we glue felt to the cardboard on both sides.

Finding the center of the heart. And we begin to glue our leaves, forming a flower. For the first row we need 4 white leaves.

And 5 pink leaves.

Please note that the leaves are only glued halfway. The second row is glued under the first.

In this way we fill our entire heart.

Decorate with beads.

Place the cabochon in the center.

Cut out leaves from green felt.

Glue them along the edge of the heart, placing them under the outermost leaf.

Add stamens.

Our souvenir kanzashi heart made of satin ribbons is ready. If you want, then with reverse side You can attach a loop, then the heart can be hung on the wall or in the car.

DIY kanzashi flowers made from satin ribbons

In this lesson we will look at the option of wonderful kanzashi hairpins for last call with elegant black and white flowers, they are complemented with lace, tassels with beads, which makes them interesting. To make such an exclusive decoration, select suitable accessories and repeat this master class.

The last call is a joyful and sad holiday at the same time. On the one hand, the long-awaited summer begins, fun, carefree days, relaxation, on the other hand, it’s sad to part with your favorite class for a long time. And the children stand on the line, dressed up and smiling, singing funny and sad songs, reciting poems.

Although the last bell is considered a holiday, there are still some restrictions in terms of the appearance of schoolchildren. Only black and white or dark blue colors are allowed on the line. Schoolchildren should not wear colored clothes or accessories, then everything will look harmonious and solemn. As you know, all girls are fashionistas. They want to somehow stand out from the crowd, to be the most beautiful. Read how to do it here.

For one kanzashi hairpin on a clip you will need:

  • white and black pieces of satin 2.5 cm wide - 6 pieces of each color, 7 cm long;
  • white lace “Apple” approximate width 4-5 cm – 1 piece 30 cm long;
  • transparent half-beads with a diameter of 0.5 cm - 11 pieces;
  • silver hugger for the middle with a diameter of 2 cm – 1 piece;
  • black crystal half bead with a diameter of 1.4 cm – 1 piece;
  • white and black pieces of satin 2.5 cm wide - 1 piece of each color, 6 cm long;
  • silver cord – 2 cuts of 8 cm each;
  • “Bells” huggers – 2 pieces;
  • standard mother-of-pearl beads with holes 0.5 cm in diameter - 4 pieces white and 2 pieces black;
  • steel crocodile 7.5 cm – 1 piece;
  • round felt base with a diameter of 4 cm - 1 piece.

The proposed hair clips consist of a top black and white two-layer flower modeled from pointed kanzashi petals, a bottom lace layer and two tassels with beads and petals.

To process, measure, cut the tape, get rid of protruding threads, and glue all the parts into a single product, you will need traditional tools: a ruler, scissors, glue, and a lighter.

Prepare all the accessories indicated in the list. Double the quantity of all items if you want to make a whole couple of decorations. It is better not to change the black and white color scheme, since we are talking about decoration for the last call. You can change the texture of the lace, the center, the number of beads on the tassels.

The pointed petals are modeled from a pre-scorched ribbon of white and black color, cut precisely along a ruler. First, bend each strip at a right angle in the center. Then lower one side of the piece down to align the two ends neatly.

Gather 6 petals of the same color onto a white thread. Pierce the double layer of tape at the base with a needle, make a few stitches and pull the thread through.

Tighten the knot. Prepare a hug and glue a black crystal into it.

Make black petals. But later we will glue them to the felt base, so after forming the corner we need to gather the bottom double layer of satin in two places and singe the folds.

Pull the white thread through one side of the lace and tighten the knot to create a round, fluffy cloud.

Cut the silver cord. String a hug bell and three beads onto each piece. Make an additional white and black petal of the same shape, but smaller (in this case, a 6 cm ribbon will be used).

Glue the black petals from below to the white ones, moving them closer to the edge, as well as in the spaces between the parts of the top layer.

On the tassels, glue white and black petals into bells. Glue the laces to the back of the flower and secure with felt.

The upper part of the kanzashi hairpin is ready.

Glue transparent half-beads onto the lace cloud.

Glue the lace underneath.

Glue a steel crocodile on the back to make a handy clip.

Kanzashi school hairpins look beautiful, not boring and fashionable. They can be worn not only for big occasions school holidays, but also every day.

Teddy bear using kanzashi technique

In this lesson we will make a bear from satin ribbons using the kanzashi technique.

We will need:

  • a piece of yellow felt;
  • yellow satin ribbon 1 cm wide;
  • brown half beads;
  • a piece of red ribbon 1 cm wide;
  • rhinestone;
  • grosgrain white ribbon;
  • two 5x5 squares of yellow tape;
  • needle with thread;
  • glue gun;
  • scissors;
  • lighter.

From a piece of yellow felt you need to cut a small circle with a diameter of 4.2 mm. It will be the basis for the craft.

Now you will need a piece of narrow tape. Its length should be 60 cm. Both cuts should be singed so that the fabric does not fray during wear. Then use a needle and thread to make a simple hand stitch, retreating from the edge of the tape 1 mm. Stitches should be made small and evenly spaced.

Having stitched the entire segment, the thread must be pulled tightly, forming a voluminous ruffle from the tape.

The thread will no longer be needed, so you can cut it off with a couple of securing stitches. The resulting ruffle made from yellow ribbon must be attached to ready-made basis from felt. Dropping glue onto the edge of the tape, you need to attach it to the circle, making sure to point the front side up, and the tightening seam to the center of the base.

Now you need to gradually glue the ruffle onto the felt base, making sure that the tape does not twist and is always wrong side down. By evenly attaching the tape in a spiral, you should completely fill the circle.

Then you need a piece of grosgrain ribbon, approximately 2.5x2.5 cm in size.

From it you need to cut out a muzzle for a bear. Its shape is similar to a heart, only without the pointed bottom edge. The cut piece should be immediately treated with fire so that it does not crumble and retains its shape.

The finished muzzle remains to be glued to the base of the hairpin, positioned approximately in the center of the circle.

They are needed to create ears for the bear. To do this, each workpiece must be bent into a triangle.

The two sides of the part consist of slices; they must be folded in small folds, leaving the fold untouched.

The result is a rounded part, similar to a bear's ear.

Two squares make neat ears.

The ears remain to be attached to the prepared head. They should be attached to the edge of the circle, slightly hidden under the yellow ruffle.

Now you will need a piece of red tape.

The edges must be singed and folded towards the wrong side, approximately towards the middle.

Holding the folded ribbon with your fingers, you need to lay several stitches in its center with a regular needle and thread. Then you need to tighten the thread, forming a bow from the ribbon.

This bow should be attached to the left ear of the bear, at the intersection of the ruffle and the ear.

Turning the bear's head with the bottom side, you need to glue the hair clip in a horizontal position.

All that remains is to straighten the ruffle and add three brown half-beads to the head. The first half bead, located on the edge of the rep muzzle, will be the nose. The remaining two half-beads will become the eyes of the bear, located just above the nose, on top of the folds of the ruffle.

Our craft using the kanzashi technique is ready!

DIY kanzashi satin bows

The doll pink color makes these bows adorable accessories for little girls. And the magical effect is enhanced by an insert of grosgrain ribbon with the image of your favorite cartoon Hello Kitty, a sparkling cabochon and lace details. Every girl should have a lot of bows, which she can change to match the color of her dress or admire her wealth, which lies in the box.

To make the same unique decorations for young sweeties, prepare the appropriate accessories. It costs literally pennies, but ready product looks very rich. Handmade accessories are an indicator of good taste and aristocratic nature, so mothers should pamper girls with them from childhood.

For one doll pink bow, prepare:

  • 4 pieces of soft pink satin ribbon, 9 cm each;
  • 4 pieces of textured white ribbon in the form of lace (2 cm wide) 9 cm each;
  • 4 pieces of pink cartoon grosgrain ribbon with the image of Hello Kitty, 7 cm each;
  • a small piece of pink lace 2 cm wide to fasten the bow (you can use a 1.2 cm satin ribbon) about 12 cm long;
  • bead hugger 2 cm and cabochon to it 1.4 cm;
  • felt circle 4 cm;
  • clamp 7.5 cm.

To make the same charming bows, you need to form two portions of loops from the pieces of ribbon indicated in the list. Pink satin, combined with white lace, will become the bottom layer of the decoration, and rep details with a child's drawing will look beautiful on top, crowning the entire composition. And of course, you can’t do without sparkling stones - it will be a cabochon - girls love them so much.

If the need arises, the same bows can be made in blue, lilac, yellow or coral tones. Are there any strict rules when it comes to DIY jewelry?

Take wide soft pink satin ribbons 5 cm. Combine them with white mesh lace - clearly in the center. You can immediately burn the aligned edges to hold them together.

In total, for one bow you will need 4 such double parts. Fold each strip in half (the white lace must remain on top). Use your fingers to grasp both sides and press the combined ends towards the center to create a double fold. Scorch it again.

Glue the loops together. Two loops will become right, the other two will become left. Connecting them all together, as if superimposing them on each other.

Cut out 4 grosgrain soft pink pieces with a matching design. The width of this tape can be 2.5 cm or 4 cm. The edge of the rep does not need to be singed, since it is denser.

Make loops using the same method. Only they will be single and smaller in size.

Glue these loops in pairs: make two right, the other two left, also overlapping each other.

Take pink lace for the center part.

On the back of the bow, glue the strip with the wrong side facing away from you.

Turn the bow to face. Glue the top layer of reps on top.

Place thin lace around the center. Trim and glue the end.

The second bow is done the same way.

Glue the cabochon into the hug and prepare the clamp.

Glue the jewel on top. As a centerpiece, you can choose another plastic cabochon that you find on sale, for example, a funny bee, some kind of face, or the same Hello Kitty, to complement the themed accessory.

Press the clip down with felt.

Imagine how happy a little fashionista will be if she has the opportunity to decorate her braids or ponytails with such cute bows. Of course, we recommend making a couple of decorations at once so that you can model different hairstyles.

From the presented master class it is clear that during the work you will not have to model any complex details or petals of a special shape - everything is simple and clear. The main thing is to handle the lighter skillfully, do not overexpose the parts over the flame so that the fabric does not melt.

Kanzashi elastic band “Girl in lace”

Delicate lace and satin ribbon are in perfect harmony with each other, and if you also choose an interesting combination of colors, then half the success is already guaranteed. This tutorial shows how to make a beautiful elastic hair clip with a kanzashi flower and lace.

You will learn how to model sharp petals by simply folding strips of ribbon, create a lace base for a flower, and also see how beautiful the cute center looks in a delicate frame. Prepare a similar masterpiece for a little girl who will definitely be delighted with such a wonderful gift.

For an elastic band with a flower and lace we will need:

  • 26 pieces of pink ribbon - 1.2*5.5 cm;
  • 11 pieces of pink ribbon - 1.2*4.5 cm;
  • two felt circles with a diameter of 3 and 4 cm;
  • felt rectangle - 1*4 cm;
  • the middle is the smiling face of a girl;
  • pink elastic band - 4 cm;
  • turquoise or mint “Path” lace, cut in half - 29 cm.

The proposed decoration will be delicate, consisting of two layers. The first layer is a cloud of mint lace, the second is a pink three-tiered flower modeled from sharp flat petals. The whole composition is crowned by a beautiful and funny center that matches the ribbon used.

To work, you will also need glue, turquoise thread with a needle, scissors with a ruler, and a lighter. When the required accessories have been purchased, get down to exciting work without putting it off, because the girl is so looking forward to a fresh new thing.

How to decorate kanzashi with your own hands

Cut off the planned fittings indicated in the list. You need pink stripes in two sizes, lace, a plastic center and felt circles. By looking at an example of a hairpin in the form of this unique combination, you will get an idea of whether such a decoration is suitable for you, because the colors of the ribbon can be changed. All little girls are fashionistas, they probably have a whole wardrobe of bright dresses, so you can make an elastic band to match any of them.

Use the tape singed on both sides to create petals. First, you need to fold them in a special way, then singe the folded ends so that they stick, and glue them into a beautiful flower. Fold the strips in half at an angle. See how to do this in the photo provided.

Fold the resulting corners in half again at an angle to get double combined blanks, and house triangles will be visible in the place of the folds. Turn the petals to face you. Sear at the base, squeezing the sides with your fingers. Folds will appear at the bottom, and dents will appear in the center of the petals, which will add volume. Now all that remains is to glue everything together to get a lush result.

Make two sizes of pink pieces and cut out a small felt circle.

First, start gluing the larger petals. Place the first layer closer to the edge of the circle. Use half of the prepared fragments for it.

Make the second layer the same, but glue it overlapping on top, moving the parts relative to the lower ones.

Glue the third small layer. There will be a hole inside, which will subsequently be disguised by the girl’s face. That's why we took the felt size with a margin.

Cut the lace to the desired length.

Start assembling onto the thread on one side. Move the needle along the part that was cut with scissors - it will be straight, not wavy. The list of accessories indicates that we will use “Track” lace, cut lengthwise.

Gather a lush lace cloud by pulling the thread tightly and tying a knot. Glue the turquoise component underneath.

Now start preparing the base beautiful hairpin. This can be any option, an elastic band is shown here. Cut out a second (larger) circle of pink felt, a rectangle and prepare an elastic band.

Glue the elastic band to the circle using a rectangle.

That's all - the beautiful kanzashi decoration is ready. Finally, the baby has received this wonderful gift, now she has something to brag about to her peers.

Get creative with good mood, because the master conveys a piece of his soul along with the fruit of his work.

Master class 1. Twisted rose from a solid ribbon

Let's start, perhaps, with the simplest and most fast way making roses from ribbons with your own hands. Once you master the technique of rolling roses from ribbon, you can make them while sitting in front of the TV. Depending on the width and length of the ribbon used, you can twist both small and lush buds. You can use a ribbon made of any material - organza, satin, cotton and even strips of linen fabric.

What you will need:

  • Any ribbon - the longer and wider it is, the larger the bud will be. For a medium-sized rose, a 2.5 cm wide ribbon is enough.
  • Thread and needle or hot glue gun.
  • Scissors.

How to twist a rose from a ribbon:

Step 1. Straighten and place the tape in front of you, then bend one of the ends of the tape (either) along the bias, as shown in Fig. 1.

Step 2. Wrap the tip of the ribbon into a roll in two or three turns to form the core of the rose, fix its lower part with glue or simply sew it (see Fig. 2).

Step 3. Now we begin to form the rose petals. To do this, bend the tape again obliquely to the outer side (see Fig. 3) and wrap it around the core of the rose, holding (and, if desired, fixing with thread/glue) the entire workpiece from below (see Fig. 4).

Step 4. Next, continue to “build up” the layers of “petals” according to the scheme: bend the ribbon outward - wrap the bud - bend the ribbon outward - wrap the bud, etc. (see Fig. 5). Periodically fix the layers of tape at the base of the bud with glue or thread and a needle. Remember that the most important thing is not to let the ribbon unravel.

  • Experienced decorators can twist a rose by fixing the layers of tape only a couple of times (at the beginning and at the end), but for beginners it is easier to stitch/glue the “petals” of a rose much more often.
  • It is more convenient to roll a rose by holding the base of the bud between your index and middle fingers, so that the flower seems to be lying in your palm.

Step 5. When the rose reaches the desired size, press the end of the ribbon to the base and tie/glue (Fig. 6).

  • Practice curling roses from ribbons of different widths and lengths, experiment with the angle of the ribbon, the number of folds per layer, or the tightness of the twist to achieve the effect you like best. So, for example, a rose twisted from ribbon can be very multi-layered or, conversely, softer, have sharper corners or, conversely, rounded.

If you have any questions, we suggest watching a video on how to make a flower from a satin ribbon with your own hands using this technique.

Master class 2. Realistic flowers from ribbons (peonies, roses or ranunculus)

Now we suggest you familiarize yourself with the technique, following which you can achieve the most realistic and elegant look of petals, which is only possible for flowers made by yourself. Take a look at this selection of photos and see for yourself.

Despite all the beauty and apparent complexity, even a beginner can make such flowers from ribbons with his own hands.

You will need:

  • Candle or lighter.
  • Ribbon 5 cm wide (for a medium peony) made of 100% polyester (it can be either rayon/satin or organza). Keep in mind that ribbons made from natural materials will not work. If you want to make a large and lush peony, then you can use either more petals and/or a ribbon 7-8 cm wide.
  • Scissors.
  • Needle and thread to match the ribbon.

How to make a peony with your own hands:

Step 1. Cut the ribbon into squares in the following sizes and numbers:

  • 5×7 cm (6-10 pcs);
  • 4×6 cm (6-10 pcs);
  • 3×5 cm (6-10 pcs);
  • 2×4 cm (6-10 pcs).

As a result, you should have a minimum of 24 and a maximum of 40 squares. The more petals you make, the more magnificent and larger the bud will be.

Step 2: Now arrange the groups of squares into piles. Then cut out petals from each stack (the shape is shown in the picture below). Keep in mind that accuracy is not important here, everything can be done by eye, without measurements and without using templates. The main thing is that you get petals of different sizes: very large - large - medium - small.

Step 3. It's time for the fun part - giving shape and volume to our petals. To do this, light a candle or lighter and, holding the edges of the petal at a distance of about 2 cm from the fire, melt them (but do not scorch them!). Rotate the petal smoothly but quickly. This way you need to process all your workpieces.

  • If you want the petal to become more rounded, hold it over the fire a little longer, but do not reduce the distance from the fire. However, sometimes petals slightly blackened by fire look quite organic.

Step 4. Take one of the smallest petals, roll it into a roll and make a couple of stitches in its lower part to secure it. You now have the core of your flower.

Step 5. Attach the second small petal and secure it with a couple of stitches. Continue attaching the petals one after another, maintaining a checkerboard pattern. When you are done with the small petals, start attaching the middle petals, then the larger ones, and finally the largest ones.

Flowers made from ribbons in two shades

Flowers made from ribbons of the same shade

Well, that's all, the peony is ready!

Using the same principle, but by changing the number, shape, size and color of the petals, as well as adding stamens from beads or floss threads, you can create roses, tulips, poppies or ranunculus.

Following our master class, you can make flowers not only from satin ribbons, but also from organza. Why not use old ribbons for baby bows?

Master class 3. Simple flowers from ribbons in 5 minutes

If you need to make flowers from ribbons with your own hands as quickly as possible, for example, for gift wrapping, then this step-by-step instruction will help you out.

What you will need:

  • Any tape;
  • Beads;
  • Scissors;
  • Hot glue gun.

How to make a flower from ribbon:

Step 1. Cut out a small circle with a diameter of about 5 cm from cardboard or thick paper. This circle will become the base of your flower and will be hidden under the petals, so it does not need to be cut out carefully.

Step 2: Start gluing the tape to the top edge of the circle, creating a pleat as shown in the photo below.

Step 3: Continue applying the tape in a spiral pattern in 3 or more layers. When you reach the center, cut off the excess tape, fold the end under, and carefully glue it in place.

Step 4: Place a large dot of hot glue in the center of the flower and quickly fill it with beads.

Master class 4. Small textured flower made from wave braid

If you want to decorate a ring, headband, brooch or necklace with a flower, then a rose made from wave braid is best suited. After all, it turns out so neat, strong, elegant and small.

What you will need:

  • A wave braid of medium width and a length of 50-60 cm (for one rose) or two ribbons of different colors of the same width, 25-30 cm long (if you want to make a two-color rose). However, the length can be longer or shorter, it depends on what size you want to make the bud.
  • Scissors.
  • Sewing machine.
  • Threads with a needle to match the braid.

Step 1. Take two wave braids of the same length and intertwine them together as shown in the photo. Before you start weaving, secure the two ribbons with some kind of clamp so that they do not unravel.

Step 2: Machine stitch along the edge of your piece to secure the weave.

If you don't have a machine, it doesn't matter. Just run large stitches along the entire length of the braid.

Step 3. To make the flower, simply start folding the ribbon at one end, securing the layers with hot glue in some places.

Step 4: When you're done, you should have a bud that looks something like this. Simply tuck the remaining end of the braid under the flower and secure it with glue.

Step 5. Glue a small circle of felt, cardboard or thick fabric to the base. In the future, you can glue anything to this base - from a hairpin to a ring.

Step 6. Have you noticed that all the petals of our flower are closed? In this form, it looks more like a peony or ranunculus. If you want the flower to become a rose, simply spread each petal outward one by one.

Master class 5. Poinsettia with leaves

It's time to tell you how to make poinsettias from ribbons, which can be used to decorate anything, for example, an autumn wreath as in the photo below.

What you will need:

  • Ribbon 4-6 cm wide in red, cream or any other desired shade;
  • Green ribbon (for leaves) 2-3 cm wide;
  • Scissors;
  • A needle and thread to match the ribbon for the petals or thin copper wire (jewelry);
  • Beads;
  • Hot glue.

How to make a poinsettia from ribbons:

Step 1. Cut three pieces of equal length from the ribbon. How long should the segments be? It depends on what size flower you need. If you want to make a flower with a diameter of 12 cm, then the segments should be exactly this length.

Step 2. Give the resulting rectangles a diamond shape. You can do this in the following way: stack the pieces on top of each other, fold the stack in half, then give the resulting square a triangle shape by cutting off the excess on the sides. Voila, you've got diamonds!

Step 3. Pinch each diamond in the middle and tie the folds with thread (you can do a couple of stitches) or jewelry wire.

Step 4. Place all three pieces next to each other, then tie them with thread or jewelry wire to create a flower. Adjust the petals if necessary.

Step 5. Glue several stamen beads into the center of the flower.

Step 6. Now let's work on the leaves. Cut two lengths of 6-9 cm from the green ribbon (the length of the pieces should be approximately three times the width of your green ribbon). Place one of the rectangles on the table, wrong side up. Bend its right side downwards along the bias so that the workpiece takes on an L-shape (see photo). Now fold your letter G in half to create a house-shaped piece with a roof. Gather the bottom of the “house” with a couple of stitches or glue.

Step 7. Now the leaves can be glued/sewn to the back of the poinsettia, to a felt round base (if you have one) or directly to a decorative object (headband, pillow, etc.).

Master class 6. Lace ribbon flower

And finally, we present another express method for making a simple, but beautiful flower with your own hands. The principle of operation in this technique is similar to that described in MK No. 3, but instead of glue, a thread with a needle is used to fix the craft, and instead of a satin ribbon, a lace ribbon is used. However, you can use any other one. Lace flowers make wonderful brooches and hair clips.

What you will need:

  • Lace ribbon;
  • Scissors;
  • Needle and thread to match the ribbon;
  • Beads;
  • Hot glue.

How to make a lace flower:

Step 1: Baste the tape along the bottom edge using wide stitches.

Step 2. Once you are done sewing, gather the ribbon by pulling the thread and bring the two ends together to complete the circle and create the first layer of petals.

Step 3. Glue a small circle of felt or other fabric into the center on the wrong side of the flower. Sew the necessary accessories to it, for example, a pin, to make a brooch.

Step 4. Glue beads, rhinestones, stones or other decor to the center.

If you want to continue your acquaintance with the art of making flowers from ribbons with your own hands, we offer you to watch the following step-by-step video instructions.

This video shows a method for making a rose from a satin ribbon, which differs from our master class No. 1.

Here is another master class on making roses in shabby chic style.

Kanzashi handicrafts are very popular in our country today. The Internet is full of various articles, forums discuss the techniques of this handicraft, and there are many master classes on this topic. We couldn’t “stand on the sidelines” either, so in this article we’ll get acquainted with the most interesting form of art called kanzashi. Anyone who has the desire can master the technique of creating simple flowers with their own hands. The main thing is patience and over time everything will work out.

The main thing in the article

Set for kanzashi

As in any creative handicraft, for kanzashi you need to have a certain set of tools for work. Experienced kanzashi masters have their own exclusive set. Some people specifically buy a set of tools for kanzashi, while others use improvised tools in their work. In any case, to get started with this technique you need to have:

  • Tweezers– it can be: surgical, anatomical, sewing, tweezers for eyebrow correction are also suitable.
  • Scissors They can be of any size, the main thing is that their blades are not short.
  • Glue must be transparent. Since kanzashi glues not only tapes, but also metal and plastic parts, a universal glue is needed. Those who already work in this technique recommend using the “Moment Crystal”. If you are planning to seriously practice kanzashi, then it is better to purchase a hot glue gun, it is much more convenient and practical to use.
  • Threads must be durable and match the work being assembled.
  • Needle for assembling the work, select a thin one: 5-8 cm in length. You should have a few pins on hand just in case.
  • Candle. This tool is necessary for burning the edges of the tape. You can use it instead lighter, gas burner, burner etc.
  • Satin ribbons of different widths, are the main material for work.
  • Accessories used as flower centers. Here you can use intricate buttons, beautiful beads, small balls.

When using natural fabrics, be careful: they may burn rather than melt.

What kind of jewelry is made using the kanzashi technique?

Kanzashi is the name given to traditional Japanese jewelry used to decorate geisha hairstyles. They were worn with a kimono.

The decorations consist of fabric flowers. Historically, traditional Japanese women's attire has prohibited the use of necklaces and bracelets. Decorating hairstyles became the only decoration for Japanese women that gave them the opportunity to express themselves. Hairpins, combs, and sticks were decorated with flowers made from silk ribbons.

Today, the kanzashi technique is used all over the world, and not only for hair decoration. Kanzashi is used to make original accessories, jewelry, and even decorate clothes.

Kanzashi ribbons: how to choose materials

At first glance, choosing a ribbon for decoration is easy. Take any one you like and work. But no, when choosing a tape for kanzashi, you need to pay attention to the density of the material. After all, the thicker the tape, the easier it is to work with.

If it is not possible to purchase a thick ribbon, take a soft one; at the end of the work, be sure to treat the product with hairspray so that the decoration holds its shape better. You should also pay attention to the fact that rhinestones lose their shine when exposed to varnish.

Look through the tape carefully: sometimes you come across a skewed tape or a tape with uneven thread tension. Such ribbons should be discarded, since the end result will not be even and beautiful.

Most often, a satin ribbon is chosen for kanzashi; rep ribbons are used less often. Beginning needlewomen should start with classic satin ribbons, while self-confident craftsmen can try ribbons of bolder materials and colors. Pay attention to the colors:

  • strict stripes and frivolous polka dots are suitable for classic hairpins;
  • ribbons with funny inscriptions can be used to create children's accessories;
  • Floral prints on ribbons will make the decoration solemnly romantic.

Making flowers from kanzashi ribbons with your own hands

Working with the kanzashi technique is not difficult; to prove it, we will give an example of making a rose from a satin ribbon.

To work you will need:

  1. Pink satin ribbon 2.5 cm wide and 1.5 m long.
  2. Sewing threads in pink or white.
  3. Candle.
  4. Needle.
  5. Glue. You can use a pistol or a regular one from a tube.

Progress:

  • For the rose, cut 6-7 cm strips from the pink ribbon. There should be 12 of them. We singe the strips of tape on both sides using a candle.

  • Fold the corner of the ribbon and stitch it as shown in the photo.

  • We carry out the same operation with the other corner and tighten the thread.

  • You should get 12 neat petals.

  • We take one petal and make the middle out of it. We wrap it tightly in a tube and secure it with a thread and a needle.

  • We wrap the finished petals around the resulting center. The first ones can be sewn on, and the subsequent ones can be placed on glue. The main thing is that each subsequent petal slightly overlaps the previous one.

To make the rose more lush, you need to use more petals.
The photo below shows step by step work in making flowers using the kanzashi technique.

Kanzashi for beginners: the basics of the art of making jewelry

There is no big secret in making kanzashi, the main thing is to learn how to make petals correctly. There are only two types of them in this technique:

  1. Round.
  2. Spicy.

For a beginner to work in this technique, it is enough to make the petals correctly, and the flowers will form by themselves. We will give the basics for beginners using the example of a 5x5 square of satin ribbon.

Round petal for kanzashi

  • The square is folded in half diagonally.

  • The corners of the triangle fold into the middle.

  • Secure with thread and needle.

  • Turn over and fold the corners toward the center again.

  • Fold the future petal in half so that the corners are on the inside.

  • Trim the bottom of the petal evenly.

  • We solder the place where we cut it and level it.

  • These petals can easily make a beautiful flower.

Spicy petal for kanzashi.

  • As in the first case, fold a piece of tape in half diagonally.

  • Fold this triangle in half again.

  • Once again.

  • We cut off the lower part evenly.

  • We singe the cut part while it is hot and press it with our fingers to solder the parts.

  • A cut is made from below and singed.

  • The height of the petal depends on the cut line.

  • The petal can be with or without a hole. In the first option, the lower cut is simply singed. In the second, this section is soldered.

  • Such petals can be assembled into a beautiful flower without any special skills.
